To Whom It May Concern,

In the capacity of Head Librarian and Co-ordinator of the Library/Information Technology program it has been my pleasure to hire Martin Palmer for our visiting authors and artists program. His dramatic and musical performances have enriched our program for our young people, adding an authentic dimension to our efforts to develop aesthetic appreciation and joy for the performing arts.

Martin's flexibility and versatility made it possible for us to design a program that supported the Music, English, and Drama curriculums of our Middle and High School divisions. His dramatization of Shakespearean plays created an enthusiasm not only for literature, but for acting and artistic expression as Middle Schoolers literally jumped for joy at the opportunity of performing with Martin. His use of music and humor won the hearts of all the students as they responded to the professional level of his talent and delivery.

During his engagement with us Martin performed for our pre-primary children, as well as elementary, middle and high school aged students, all with equal success. He is effective with any sized group of youngsters in classrooms and auditoriums. His most endearing quality is his talent for engaging his audience and building self-esteem by encouraging young people to join him in his celebration of the arts. His creativity and enthusiasm are infectious!

In a short period of time Martin was able to establish a relaxed rapport with staff and students, and his willingness to accommodate requests and tailor his program to our specific educational needs resulted in productive collaborative planning. We are all looking forward to many encores of Martin's performances in the years to come!

Yours truly,

Dr. Carol Gordon
