Martin Palmer

In October of this year, 1997, Martin Palmer made a second visit to our school in Wiesbaden to perform to our children.

Martin has the ability and flexibility to tailor make his programme to suit any audience. A true 'artist', he thoroughly enjoys what he does and simply 'bubbles' with fun! He's a great person to work with and an inspiration to all. Every single one of us here at I.S.W. - students, parents and teachers would wish to recommend him wholeheartedly.

Martin gave separate performances geared to our different age groups - There was a three-part programme for our younger children, aged 3 -5, 1. A dramatized 'Winnie the Pooh' Story
2. An introduction to the clarinet and the flute
3. Peter and the Wolf

Our first and second grades were entertained with his 'solo' Victorian pantomime, - Jack and the Giant Grumblegrim, plus a more extended introduction to the clarinet and flute (including audience participation), and a performance of the Madhatter's Tea Party.

The third, fourth and fifth graders received a similar programme where Martin gave further emphasis to the techniques involved in playing the woodwind instruments. He also delighted there older students with scenes from his Charles Dickens Show - A Dickens of a Childhood.

We are all hoping for a return visit from Martin again in the not too distant future.
