TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

MARTIN PALMER

As a friend and colleague at ISS International School Singapore I have found Martin Palmer to be truly one of the most creatively talented individuals Ihave ever met.

His enthusiasm, energy, mastery of music and the performing arts are evident on stage as well as in the classroom. One cannot help but be drawn in by his genuine love of life. He radiates enthusiasm in his interest of people, cultures, history, the arts and music. His knowledge is vast, from a traditionally educated background and well travelled personal experiences around the world. He brings all of this to the classroom. When teaching music appreciation, he is able to integrate history, art, politics and fashion in creating a web of understanding in which a piece of music was written. At times even wearing a period costume to motivate the interest of his students.

He has been able to successfully involve all students in a deeper understanding and appreciation of music, from the high fliers to the not so highly motivated students. His vitality is infectious and he is loved and appreciated by students and staff alike.

Martin in not the conventional teacher. He spends a lot of time working with individuals and small groups of students outside of class as well as in class. He is very involved as a professional performer outside of school and has performed a number of his "one man shows" in school, to the delight of the students and staff.

Martin is like a breath of fresh air - a joy to work with and to have around. His vast talent goes without saying.

I would recommend Martin Palmer without reservation.

Yours faithfully,
